You heard me. I'm not exactly aware whether people care or not, but I thought to inform you anyway.
Here in Finland we have a national obligation for males to enlist in the army after turning 18. Only ways around it are permanent illness, civil service or prison. I'm 19 and it's finally my turn to join the ranks. I'm a little bit nervous, a little excited and a little neutral. There's no physical boot camp like this and I'm hopeful to do well.
It's likely that my military service will last either 9 or 12 months, so that will mean no likely MOCing nor much contact with the outer world, 'cept for holidays and roughly every other weekend. Since I'll be there for such a long time, I thought to make the best out of it and apply possibly to leadership training to become a Corporal. I'm wishful to join the Navy after the basic training season as sailing abroad would be quite fun.
I really don't know what to expect, so there's quite a journey ahead of me. Wish me luck
I might update someday about my progress.
